DISCIPLESHIP | THE PATHWAY

Everyone is learning from and following someone or something. The world is constantly trying to press us into its mold (Romans 12:2). So the question is not, “Are you a learner or follower?” but rather “Who or what are you following?”
Our desire is to be disciples or learners of Jesus Christ. Everything we do in discipleship is governed by our mission statement which is rooted in the great commission Christ gave to His church:
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20)
Here is how we desire to accomplish this: The Discipleship Pathway
There are various glorious gatherings we have sought to provide so that we might grow to be more like Him. We pray you find where you are on this pathway and take the next step into more intimate, accountable settings. (These steps are meant to supplement the fellowship and teaching provided during the Sunday worship gathering and do not serve as a new law or litmus test for ones faithfulness to Christ.) These steps include:
Congregation:
Gathering weekly with God’s people to hear the expository preaching of the Word of God, respond to God through song, and receive the ordinances or sacraments (Baptism & Lord’s Supper). As a church member, you avail yourself of these primary means of growth and seek to glorify God with the gathered church on Sunday. As a servant you can seek to use your unique gift to build up the body of Christ whether that’s simply through prayer and encouragement or by joining a serve team. The Sunday gathering– from beginning to end– is an indispensable, mass discipling activity.
Community:
Building intentional relationships as you scatter throughout the week through Faith Groups, Ministry Groups, and Classes. As member, you can join these smaller groups and learn Christ with others. As a servant you can lead or serve the people in these groups.
Core:
Building deeper fellowship and accountability through an intensive, gender-specific Discipleship Group of 3-5 people. As a member, you can join a group led by a trained leader and dive into the scriptures, hold each other accountable in various disciplines, dive into an extra biblical curriculum, and pray with one another– all for the purpose of beholding the glory of Christ and growing to love and obey Him more. As a servant, you can be trained to lead your own group and pour biblical wisdom into a group of 3-5 other disciples of Jesus.
Crowds:
Flowing out of all these gatherings will be our love for the lost. We will go into the world to live a live that reflects our Savior and seek to give a reason for the hope that is in us. We will stir one another up to give the gospel to our neighbors, neighborhoods, and even the nations so that even our small acts of obedience will help others to become followers of Jesus, begin their journey on this pathway, and lead to more churches established!
